Persona Filmes focuses on historical cinema. Its productions combine aesthetic research and technical quality with themes that reveal defining traits of Brazilian cultural identity and its characters.
We live in a time of strengthened female protagonism that, among other achievements, brings with it an interest in learning about figures forgotten and made invisible by historical records.
With a closer gaze, they prove to be fascinating, polemical, contradictory, and inspiring.
By reclaiming women’s memory, we seek to highlight and give visibility to their presence in history and also to create characters in search of their origins—real or fictional. In this sense, we also aim to increase the presence of women and their narratives in Brazilian audiovisual production.
